Climate Alliance Office in Brussels

Climate Alliance runs a permanent office in Brussels since 2007. Its tasks are to lobby the European institutions in order to achieve better framework conditions for local authorities and support them in success in their efforts in fighting against climate change. The Brussels Office represents the Climate Alliance at the European Commission and the European Parliament, and at all European-level initiatives and events.
Our main missions and activities
- Get Climate Alliance members’ messages conveyed to the European Institutions - Climate Alliance represents your interests during various events in Brussels attended by the Commissioners (DGs Energy, Climate Action, Mobility and Transport, Environment) and relevant MEPs.
- Influence the decisions made by the EU institutions to strengthen the role of Local Authorities in Climate Change Policies - Climate Alliance follows-up the EU institutions' policies, participates in the relevant consultation processes and publishes position papers / policy recommendations. Climate Alliance also cooperates with other relevant local authorities' networks.
- Is part of the coordination team of the Covenant of Mayors directly targeting local authorities and their citizens to take the lead in combating climate change.
- Disseminate information concerning European policies, programmes and calls for proposals.
