NET-COM project launched in Vienna, June 16th 2011

The Covenant of Mayors has become a unique European initiative involving local and regional authorities committed to climate protection. However, there is still a lack of networking activities between Covenant Signatories and Supporting Structures.

NET-COM (NETworking the Covenant of Mayors), funded in the framework of the Intelligent Energy Europe programme, brings together 12 city networks in Europe that wants to fill this gap.

The significant reinforcement of the networking and communication dimension of local authorities' activities at national/regional and European level is a major aim of the project. For that purpose, a German Covenant Club will be launched October 25^th 2011 in Heidelberg.
